Raising a child comes with an endless stream of questions — some urgent, some just curious. Search the internet for almost any of them and you'll find a flood of results, not all of equal quality. This page is a starting point: a curated collection of guides covering the topics parents ask about most, written from a pediatrician's perspective and grounded in established medical guidance.
Our Approach to Pediatric Care
Dr. Yasser Masood is a Consultant Pediatrician & Neonatologist with FRCPCH (UK) and FCPS qualifications, and more than 23 years of clinical experience across Pakistan and the United Kingdom. The guidance on this site reflects three core principles:
- Evidence first. Guidance is based on internationally recognised standards (such as WHO growth and vaccination guidelines, and frameworks used by bodies like the AAP and RCPCH), not trends or anecdote.
- Parents are partners. Parents often notice the first signs of a problem. Good pediatric care listens carefully to these observations rather than dismissing them.
- Clarity over jargon. Medical information should be understandable. If a recommendation doesn't make sense to you, that's worth asking about.
How to Use This Guidance
Each article on this site is written to help you understand a topic — what's normal, what's worth watching, and what usually needs medical attention. They are designed to help you:
- Recognise the difference between "wait and see" and "get this checked"
- Prepare informed questions for your child's appointments
- Understand a diagnosis or recommendation you've already been given
They are not a substitute for an individual assessment. Every child is different, and a pediatrician examining your child will always have information that a general guide cannot.

A Note on Evaluating Health Information
Not everything you read online about your child's health is accurate — and even accurate general information may not apply to your child's specific situation. As a general guide, be cautious of sources that promise guaranteed cures, sell products aggressively, contradict mainstream medical guidance without strong evidence, or don't disclose who wrote them. When something you've read concerns you or conflicts with advice you've been given, the best next step is always to ask your child's doctor directly.
